Summary

Scroll Stop does not collect, sell or share any personal data, and everything it stores stays on your device. The one exception is the optional removal notification described below, which only runs if you set an accountability contact.

What is stored, and where

All of this lives only in your browser's local extension storage. It is never sent to the developer or anyone else. Removing the extension deletes it.

Optional removal notification

During setup you can enter an accountability contact's email address. It is stored on your device and shown in the extension's popup, so the person using the browser knows about it. If the extension is then removed, the browser opens a page on this website that sends one email to that contact through the email service FormSubmit. The email contains only the fact that the extension was removed, the browser name and the time. The contact's address is passed in the part of the link that is not sent to this website's server. A "Send test email" button sends the same kind of message once for testing. Nothing else is ever sent.

Permissions and why they're needed

No tracking

The extension has no analytics, ads or remote code, and makes no network requests of its own. The only data ever sent is the optional removal notification described above.
